Search Engine Submission

The submission process is handled after site optimization is complete, and then is repeated as necessary to be sure that the major search engines are crawling your site. Digital Catapult submits your site by hand, to insure that it is done properly, and to avoid your site being penalized for "spamming" as can sometimes happen with automated submissions.

Many of the search engines do not provide an "ADD URL" page to the public. At Digital Catapult, we take advantage of a number of alternative methods of getting your site listed, including:

Submitting to partner sites that share their database with the target engine.
Subscribing to multiple paid inclusion services to guarantee inclusion in the search engine database and regular refreshing of that information.
Participating in distributed crawling programs to provide guaranteed crawling of our client sites.
Linking from sites already within the search engine database.

A part of our program includes URL verification reports which show which search engines have found your site and which search engines need re-submission. This process is necessary to ensure that you remain listed as search engines occasionally drop sites for no apparent reason, or if your site is temporarily down when their spiders visit you.
